THE TRUE STORY OF DAVID AND GOLIATH

This tale can be traced back around 3,000 years to the most famous giant of them all GOLIATH, a well known tale from the bible that most take to be a moral tale but a tale which infact maybe based on a very real figure in history.

There maybe clues buried deep within the bible and the account of david versus goliath. The philastines believed they had the edge over the isrealites and sent a warrior to challenge them in one on one combat,Goliath of Gaf. This "giant" of a man seemed invincible a indication maybe of the mind set about the war with the philastines being unbeatable. The tale states that each morning the isrealites would push forward and every morning to match them one giant of a man would step forward spear in hand to match them, Goliath boasted about being unbeatable and lays claim to one on one battle wherein if they send just one man to face him if he is bested then the isrealites win and will be given the land but if he was to win the isrealites arer to leave,never to return. No isrealite dare face the hulking beast of a man until dirty malnurised a youth stepped forward and stood facing goliath down armed with just a sling. This is David the simple shepard boy most know from the pages of the bible along with countless books,cartoons and even tv ads. David was armed with a sling because historically this would of been a item shepards had to use to ward off prowling animals aiming to eat their flock. The fact of the sling also historically and physically depicts that this young can be anyone, this is the likely to depict even someone as insignificant as a child can over come odds far greater than they are.

David it is said was not even taking part in the battle, he infact had been walking to fetch food for his brothers, but this skinny frail youth was not as weak as he appeared.

Far from it infact there is accounts rather than tales that David was far from weak and had killed lions,bears and other large carnivores but modern mainstream christianity tend to let that part of the tale fall to the way side. The story goes on to say that david showed no OUTWARD fear against his opponant even as the monster of a man stood there mocking him, David laid his crook to the ground and picked up five stones walked towards the giant that laughed and said it was insulting that you send this boy (paraphrasing) For the insult of a boy confronting a man Goliath said after he won he would feed the animals and birds childs flesh. Modern day trash talking. It is believed the stone that hit goliath may of been as much as a 1/4lb, the shot hit the man in the forehead and he was down and defeated.

This is where most do not realize the tale goes further after felling the giant goliath David proceeded to hack off the mans head with his very own sword, adding insult to injury, but what most fail to know or refuse to acknowledge after this David continued his journey and murdered goliaths wife and children. Modern day churches depict david as a simply shepard sitting under trees and by rivers tending sheep and playing a flute while writing poetry when infact he was a killer of a woman and children.

The bible says that David became king but what do we know about the man, goliath that the future king defeated on the battlefield? There is some information about the gianted beaten by a mere boy, the dead sea scrolls claims goliath stood 4 cubits and a span which in modern terms is around 6feet 9inches and back then men tended to grow no taller than 5ft 3inches so does this make goliath a giant? Even today that is extremely tall, but tall people are a far more common sight this is due to the bountiful amounts of food and suppliments available more so than a evelutionary thing. Goliath in later biblical tales tends to place him in the 6 cubits and a span which is around 10 feet tall.

If you take a closer look at the bible it appears goliaths vision may of been a problem the most famous giant may of suffered as it is stated he was guided by a sheild baring attendand lead him to the battle ground, was this help as mark of respect of wa\s it that goliath was visually impaired because of his acromegaly?. The bible also says about how slowly the man moved, calculating the threat of a enemy or pain caused in the joints by his illness another symptom of the disease..

As of yet there is no evidence that the remains are of the philastine goliath but historical,physical and medical evidence points to hgoliath being real although not as fanciful i dare say as depicted in story books, the bible and late night tv shows.
